Leveca Boutique Apartments exclusively occupies Il Palazzetto, an elegant five-storey building dating
back to 1870, where the charm of historic Rome meets contemporary comfort.
Its façade, distinguished by its characteristic “egg-yolk yellow” colour and enhanced by travertine effect
decorative details framing the three entrance doorways, is a fine example of late nineteenth-century
Roman residential architecture.
Architectural features from this period can still be admired throughout
the building, including the charming cross-vaulted ceilings and exposed terracotta brickwork in the
first-floor apartment, as well as the niches lining the staircase, once likely intended for ornamental vases
and sculptures and now embellished with mirrors and vintage objects carefully selected by the owners.
Il Palazzetto is located on Via di Monte d’Oro, one of the most characteristic streets in Rome’s historic
centre, still paved with the city’s traditional sampietrini cobblestones.
Just a few steps away lies the
Campo Marzio Market, which preserves the authentic spirit of Roman daily life through its fresh
produce, local flavours and long-standing traditions.
Staying at Leveca Boutique Apartments means experiencing Rome from within, immersed in the
history, elegance and authentic atmosphere that have made the Eternal City unique for centuries.
Historical Notes
Via di Monte d’Oro was originally known as Via della Catena di Borghese.
Over the centuries, it underwent several name changes, from Vicolo Nuovo to Vicolo di Monte d’Oro, before acquiring its
current name in the mid-19th century.
The street’s name recalls the renowned Albergo Monte d’Oro,
which operated in this area of Rome between the 16th and 18th centuries, as well as the historic Osteria
Monte d’Oro, frequented by notable figures including the poet Giovanni Pascoli.
